For the third straight year, Ms. Aparri struck gold in the annual beauty pageant competition and bested 22 other hopefuls to win the 2012 Binibining Cagayan crown in front of a jam-packed CSU Andrews Auditorium, June 28.
With a lot of pressure riding on her shoulders, Ma. Erika Olive Anne P. Castillejos showcased her beauty, poise and intellect in delivering one of the best answers during the final round.
A Cum Laude, Mass Communication graduate of the University of the Philippines-Baguio, the confident lass from the coastal town dubbed as the place “where the river meets the sea” also bagged Best in Gown and was voted as the Darling of the Press.
Rounding up the top 5, Rubyrose Villaflor of Lallo was crowned as Bb. Gobyerno Ti Umili, Liana Rose Montilla of Amulung as Bb. Turismo, Reyma Yaman of Claveria grabbing 1st runner-up honors and Solana’s Geraldine Nunez won 2nd runner-up.
Villaflor (Ms. Lallo) was also judged as having the best body during the contest, winning Best in Swimsuit and displaying beautiful cultural artistry which landed her the Best in Cagayan Festival Costume.
Jennifer Rasos, representing Gonzaga town, displayed her winning smile and congenial attitude towards the camera and her fellow candidates which garnered her the Miss Photogenic and Miss Friendship awards.
Representatives from Tuao, Santa Praxedes, Santa Teresita, Gattaran and Piat completed the top 10 finalists.
Other than the beautiful contestants, the Bb. Cagayan 2012 coronation night was graced by well-known stars and personalities. Among them are renowned fashion guru Renee Salud, commercial model Gerardo Go, the gorgeous Atty. Marian Ivy Reyes-Fajardo, actor Jao Mapa and singer-host Dianne dela Fuente.
